Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)

I've been listening to copious amounts of George Harrison and the Beatles this week. I've noticed that it is IMPOSSIBLE to be in a bad mood when listening to the Beatles. Try it yourself and see, you will be amazed at how high your spirits can be lifted, no matter your current circumstance.
A new album was released a while ago, a Concert for George, featuring Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra), Joe Brown, Tom Petty, Ringo Star, Paul McCartney, and some of the most beautiful Indian music I've ever heard. Actually, the DVD of the concert is pretty kick ass too. George's son is an exact duplicate of his father, it's amazing to see him on stage!
Here is my favorite George Harrison song (in it's simplest form). It's my dedication to Zaadsters this week.
Give Me Hope (Give Me Peace On Earth)
PLEASE take hold of my hand, that
I might understand you
Won't you please
Oh won't you
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,
heart and soul
OM M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M My Lord . . .
Namaste!

I love this, Thea! Thank you for sharing. I may go out and get the album tonight.
I wholeheartedly agree that is IMPOSSIBLE to be in a bad mood if you listen to the Beatles. They are fabulous human beings and truly gifted artists. About a year ago, I watched The Beatles Anthology (about 10 hours of documentary footage on DVD) and loved every minute of it.
I am a beatles fanatic too Thea, Yellow Submarine this past month and let it be have been my most recent ones i've been massively in to. My Me Mine, a george song, as well as Bull Dog, probably John's, as it's “angst-y”. Of all of them, George's writing is always the happiest, most spiritual, positive, and he asssited the others to bring that out themselves. Think of the songs, Here Comes the Sun, of course George. When he went solo he was able to really get in to his more spiritual aspects and all of his music has the 3h logo, etc. i have an amazing 70 minute cd of bob dylan playing with george, in george's basement studio, post Beatles, they do Yesterday, which really has me question if it was in fact originally a Paul song. The key for today is how to get this sort of song making back into the mainstream, John Mayer is not that, that's for sure, just picking on him. It's often in the chording, major's , using minor, minor-ly. There is so much room for philosophisizing on it, but the bottom line is, ENJOY Thea, are you familiar with ALL THINGS MUST PASS???
of course you must be, still my favorite of George's single releases, and it's a whopper, like 20+ songs….
Peace, Love, and Truth is the way, and my how george assisted, and still does.
There's Something in the way…… Happy Saturday all, William Love
Hey, I watched that Beatles anthology too! I loved it.
I also drew a picture in memory of George after writing this blogg. It just came out of the ether, I suppose, a collection of song titles that I had stuck in my brain. One of these days, I'll get around to posting some of that artwork!
